Bontemps Cowl

8 Jul

This weekend I finished my BonTemps Cowl. It’s from the Inside Out Cowl pattern by Nicole Dupuis. It’s a free pattern download on Ravelry. This is the first of my “Stash Busting” projects. I have plenty of fabulous yarn in my stash and really need to use it before I purchase more yarn. This project was perfect for a beautiful skien of fingering weight hand dyed yarn I had by NH Knitting Mama Yarns.

This was a super fast knit for fingering weight. I used a size 5 circular needle.

This yarn actually started a beautiful self striping pattern. The simplicity of the twisted stitch gives it the perfect texture to showcase the yarn.

It only uses about 2oz of fingering weight yarn, so if you have some left over from socks or such, this is the perfect project (or gift!)

I really like this! I have a ton of fingering weight yarn that I bought when I thought I would start knitting my socks – then I found that I HATE knitting socks! I’m going to have to look this one up and maybe start on some Christmas presents . . .
