Tuesday’s Space – Raising the Roof!

Woot Woot! As most of you know, we have a very traditional cape. We knew it was going to be a “fixer upper” and have gladly taken to the wallpaper scraping, painting, and even learning a few electrical and plumbing tricks. But what we have really wanted was to add a shed dormer to the upstairs. After saving our pennies, we were finally able to raise the roof and add much needed usable space to the second floor!!!

Here’s a time lapse of the original roof being framed into the new roof. I have a few more to add since they have buttoned things up, and promise to add them along with some finished pictures. We are very excited as this space will add a larger room for Griff and master bedroom with jack and jill doors to a larger bathroom and his and her closets! For a traditional New England cape, these rooms will be over sized and add so much to our living space. It will be so worth the wait. And of course, it lead to some fantastic projects!
