Goods on the Yarnie Group

I haven’t posted a post on the yarnie group in a while. We have been growing steadily these days. We have even picked up some crocheters along the way. We have even moved into a nice conference room space at our local meeting spot. Last week there was some spinning going on. Below is some BEAUTIFUL alpaca being spun on a hand spindle.

You would not believe how soft this fiber is. Of course, I like the color. One of the ladies brings her ball winder and swift so that we can all ball up our yarns. This is me winding up my Kool Aid yarn. Much better than hand balling 800+ yards!

Here’s a little before and after of roving, spinning and plyed yarn. I believe this was a merino blend. It too is super soft.

Here is our resident spinner. She brought her wheel in to get some spinning done at group. She is working on spinning yarn for her 3rd homespun sweater! She is actually wearing one she just finished. She is amazing.

I got a lot of winding done. My kool aid yarn and a cashmere/merino blend from my stash.

Although, I am not a great sock knitter, there are some amazing sock knitters in our group. Here’s an awesome pair just finished up.

We are also a group that likes to knit a lot of “trinkets”. These mini purses are perfect for a few quarters for parking meters or spare memory cards.

Always something going on at group. So many women with different tastes, styles and interpretations of patterns. It makes it fun and inspiring to continue knitting. I know I have a lot of knitting followers. Do any of you attend a yarnie group? I’d love to see pictures.

Happy Knitting!

I don’t know anyone in “real” life that knits, but I wish I did. Your knitting group looks like a lot of fun.

I always enter my knitted good at the County Fair Yarn & Textiles booth. Often ribbon and think of joining the group. I should. I have the application/info sheet on my desk, gathering dust now that it’s been there since August. The variant styles and age would be a great thing to surround myself with. Thanks for the thought. What beautiful, green socks.
