Sara’s Sangria

5 May

This week, I am going to give you all my super duper yummy sangria recipe.

I figure it can count as a Wednesday Wine because it contains wine and there was more than one request for the recipe, so I think I can get away with it.

Sara’s Sangria

1 bottle cheap wine, a bottle you didn’t like or one unfinished (if that happens in your house)

2 shots apricot brandy

2 shots triple sec

1 2-liter bottle ginger ale

2 oranges

2 limes

2 lemons

Fill a pitcher half full of ice. Slice lemon, lime and orange in half, set half aside. With a fork, squeeze all the juices from the center of the fruit in with the ice. Add half a bottle of wine. Take second halves of fruit, cut into slices, and drop in mixture. Add 2 shots of apricot brandy and 2 shots triple sec.

Add ginger ale to taste (usually to fill the pitcher). Slice the remaining fruit for garnish. Enjoy!

Sounds great! I love how you can make sangria a little different each time and it still somehow works. My secret is blending a can of peaches (juice and all) in and throwing in some pineapple as well. Do you ever make white sangria? It’s great with a bit of passionfruit!
