WIP Wednesday
28 Jul
I have to admit, the summertime has really been cramping my creative style. I have a basket full of WIP’s in the livingroom, a pile of WIP’s lying on my sewing table and a heap of WIP’s hanging over the chair. When my free time presents itself (i.e.- Griff is napping), the sun beckons me outside to enjoy it. Once I am beckoned outside, you’d think my garden beds would be well weeded, the shrubs would be trimmed and deck would be swept. Nope. I walk past all my WIP’s and my dirty carpet, dusty tables and toys on the floor to my outside space that needs raking, weeding and trimming. I plop myself onto my deck chair and look up at the sun. I breath in, I breath out and I smile.
But don’t fret. I did take the time to snap a few pictures of a select few WIP’s from the basket, pile and heap for your pleasure. So here goes, my WIPs:
My second “Off the Vine” Sweet Pea hat. This was a commissioned project from a friend whose friend is having twins. I ran out of yarn just before I completed the second hat (drats!)
Heather Ross’ beautiful Mendocino Fabric Summer Dress. I have cut out the fabric and am getting ready to assemble it. I am using a very pretty pink floral/paisley print fabric.
The Market Bag. Another beautiful pattern from “One More Skein”. I am using Cotton Fleece yarn. It’s a light worsted that is just such a lovely yarn to work with. This is my second project with this yarn, it’s one of the best cottons I have used so far.
These are a fingerless mitt I am creating a pattern for to match the BonTemps (Inside Out) Cowl I finished last month.
Don’t forget Rosa. I am still working on Rosa. The weather has been a bit too hot to hold this much Baby Alpaca in my lap. But this is still one of my favorite projects thus far. As the weather cools, she is going to be my priority. I can’t wait to see how this is going to look on!
With that I will stop. There are a few more projects, but this is enough to admit to for now! I have no idea when I will finish these projects and that’s okay with me. Oh, and one more thing- if you aren’t following my blog through google, please follow me on the right side of this post! I’d love to see you on there!

Thank you for following my chronicles on knitting, sewing, photography, cooking, wine and whatever life brings. Cheers!

I can’t wait to see that Market Bag when its done. The yarn looks lovely!
I love how you started your post. I felt like I was getting lazy…not much in the way of creating for me too. Summer is not the right season for it I guess.
Thank you! It’s funny, I saw your post this morning and was happy I wasn’t the only one! I’m not too worried, I have a feeling we will be making up for it come Fall!
Thanks Amy!
Hope no one think I am having the twins although I may look like it if I don’t stop eating this ice cream! Thanks again for the hats I sure the Mom who really is having the twins will love them as much as I do..and I do!!!!
