WIP Wednesday

18 Aug

I feel like I am starting to sound like a broken record these days. I have been working on these same projects for weeks now. They are coming along, but it seems the summer sun has just slowed me right down! I have made SOME progress, so I thought I would share.

These are the twisted stitch fingerless mitts I designed to match the Bontemps Cowl. I have one complete, FINALLY. I haven’t cast on the second yet, but I just love how portable this project is. It’s also been a fantastic way to use up left over sock weight yarn. What do you think?

My market bag is really coming along. It’s been fast now that I that I have done all the decreasing. I have to admit, this project has taken me a bit longer than I thought. But I really do love how it is coming along and I love the yarn (Cotton Fleece by Brown Sheep Co.) I am hoping to get this done soon and post some pretty finished object photos!

I have started the smocking the Heather Ross beautiful Mendocino Fabric Summer Dress. I am still new to sewing, but this seems a bit labor intensive, but easy. It took me a few hours to do the last 4 rows. I have been having trouble getting the elastic to not “buck” (with lack of a better word) out of the bobbin. Any suggestions? I really like how it is all starting to bunch together and it looks awesome!

Keeping from my projects has been yoga on the beach, camping and soaking up the sun. It’s been hard to finish projects when the weather around here has been SO darn good!
