Yarn Along

Knitting: A good week this week has found me busy, but feeling caught up. With a creative nudge from my Bestie Westie over at Peacefully Knitting, I’ve even cast on a new project! Her latest knit Aidez gave me the inspiration I needed to cast on a cardi of my own. Using my stash yarn Riverstone 100% wool purchased at Fiber Festival 2011, I cast on Abalone. This cardi was one of the first items I ever added to my favorites in Ravelry. It’s a free pattern and seems pretty simple, so far. I think (and hope) it’s going to be a quick knit.

Reading: Another winter book from the archives: First Snow in the Woods by Jean Stoick  and Photographed by Carl R. II Sams. It is a beautiful  photographic fantasy novel which follows the story of a fawn through the changing season of fall to winter, with the most amazingly natural photographs enhancing the tale. Some shots will take your breath away. It’s a sweet story that is one we always enjoy.

Linking up with Ginny…

Abalone looks like a beautiful project – I love it! I think short-sleeved sweaters are so versatile and the layered look is so hip! I hope this one is for you?
